Q + A

How long should I stay for?

We will be delighted to celebrate our wedding with you on the Saturday. We would also love it if you are able to join us for drinks on Friday evening, and brunch on the Sunday afternoon. Depending on flight availability, this may mean taking some time off work but, as there's a huge amount to explore both in Puglia and the surrounding areas, we hope you can make a holiday of it!

Where should I fly to?

The closest airports to Monopoli are Bari (1 hour's drive) and Brindisi (40 minutes drive). If you are planning to join us for the Sunday brunch, we recommend booking your return flight for Monday 16th September.

Do I need to rent a car?

If you are planning to stay in Monopoli, and only attend the wedding events, there is no need to rent a car for the weekend. Friday night's drinks will take place in the centre of Monopoli, and buses will be provided to and from the venues on the Saturday from a central meeting point. Our recovery brunch is a 15 minute drive from Monopoli and we will be in touch regarding transport options for the Sunday closer to the time. However, if you are planning on exploring the surrounding area and staying on longer, the best way to get around is driving so we would recommend renting a car. Cars can be rented in Monopoli, as well as at the airports. It is also relatively easy to travel by train and the Trainline App works for some local routes.

What will the weather be like?

It's Southern Italy, so the summer carries through until mid to late September. We expect it to be around 25C during the day. There can be strong winds and it can get a bit chilly at night, so you may need a jacket for the evenings.

What should I wear?

The Friday night welcome drinks will be a relaxed affair, so wear whatever you feel comfortable in. For the wedding day, the dress code is lounge suits. We ask that men wear suits with a tie (preferably dark suits) and encourage florals and vibrant colours for women. Smart linens are also welcome for men, but please no trainers. There can be strong winds in September, and you may want to bring a jacket for the evening. Our wedding ceremony will be in a Catholic Church, so please dress accordingly. There will be some walking on cobbled stones and some of the wedding day will take place on grass. Wedges rather than stilettos are therefore advisable. On Sunday, brunch is at a beach club, so come prepared for a dip in the sea!

How close is the nearest beach to Monopoli?

Monopoli itself has some beaches! We suggest booking in advance at a lido (see the Local Tips tab of this website), if you're planning to lounge on a sun bed.
